Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Manager Threat Management. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON. Calgary, AB.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
Key responsibilities and accountabilities for position:
- Lead and direct the organization's proactive cyber threat management capabilities, with a core focus on identifying emerging cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities by continuously monitoring threat intelligence sources.
- Maintain and improve a robust vulnerability management program to systematically identify, assess, prioritize, and report security weaknesses across all in-scope assets in a timely manner.
- Define and optimize security detection capabilities within SIEM and other platforms, ensuring MITRE ATT&CK framework alignment for enhanced incident visibility.
- Work in collaboration with our MSSP to obtain the latest information on threat intel and vulnerabilities.
- Drive proactive threat hunting initiatives, employing hypothesis-driven and retrospective analysis, to achieve early detection of sophisticated threats and proactive risk identification.
- Develop and manage budgets for threat management related activities such as tooling and resourcing.
Accountabilities & responsibilities shared with another indiv. or team
- Cyber Incident Management – enhancing detection rules, escalating and cooperating in cyber incidents (as result of TI & TH or other channels).
- Cyber GRC – work in collaboration with the GRC team to document vulnerabilities / risks that are unmitigated.
- Collaboration with Techservices, EUC, Retail, Network to advise on what vulnerabilities require remediation.
- Cyber Platform – sharing IOC’s and troubleshooting.

What you have to offer:
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years in Cyber, 6 years in Threat/Vulnerability management.
- 2 years' experience leading a team/demonstrated leadership potential.
- Knowledge: deep understanding and hands-on experience.
- Experience using various vulnerability management platforms such as Qualys, Tenable, CrowdStrike etc.
- Knowledge and experience using SIEM for analysis of threat intel data. Latest Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs)
- Participate in threat intelligence sharing and communities: Good understanding of ever evolving threat landscape and emerging threats.
