Overview

We are looking for an experienced professional who can work with diverse communities across the country to build attraction programs to find talent for the future. As well, to be a partner with these communities. 

Job Description

  • Define the strategy and opportunity areas to increase diversity of talent pools at Sobeys – using metrics internally comparing to benchmarks.  Working with our leaders in DE&I, Talent Insights and TA
  • Manages the talent acquisition program focused on marginalized talent, assesses effectiveness and ensures performance aligns with desired objectives
  • Set goals and targets to increase diversity of talent in relevant job families in specific markets across the country
  • Build our brand as a diverse, equitable and inclusive employer of choice – with key stakeholder groups across the country
  • Proactively researches and generates new/creative sourcing ideas to engage target communities
  • Collaborates across talent acquisition and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion teams, and HR to develop solutions that align with business priorities and need
  • Partners with multiple stakeholders in HR, along with external sources to gather input to continually improve programs and processes
  • Manages partnership relationships for program/tools to ensure effective deployment and enhancements
  • Deliver programs and services to promote talent acquisition and retention strategies, branding strategies and best practices to support and embrace a culture of inclusion in marginalized communities 
  • Advise and recommend procedures regarding diversity and recruitment program requirements
  • Works with the Director, Talent Acquisition – HR and the Talent & Inclusion team to develop evaluation tools to measure and monitor the effectiveness of inclusive recruitment programs, partnerships and initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong and strategic relationships with key stakeholders focused on marginalized communities as well as with academic institutions such as universities and colleges to brand Sobeys coast to coast
  • Provide research into best-in-class programs, tools, training and initiatives to support recruitment efforts to reflect a diverse workforce and attract talent from marginalized and indigenous communities
  • Assist in developing processes by collecting, analyzing and evaluating data to report on progress and make recommendations for improving diversity hiring 
  • Collaborate with the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Director and team to ensure we are aligned to the DE&I strategy

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion experience in building inclusive programs and diversity recruitment mandates, including broad outreach and employment marketing in diverse communities
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources and/or Inclusion & Diversity field, preferably within a large, complex organization
  • Effectively work with diverse stakeholder groups and needs
  • Ability to connect programs and partnerships to organizational strategies
  • High degree of cultural competence as it relates to working with marginalized communities.  
  • Proven ability to foster partnerships, establish and maintain strong working relationships with leadership
  • Experience with program development and delivering educational and presentation materials on promoting Inclusion and belonging
  • Experience in the development and delivery of processes, tools and programs
  • Experience delivering multi-channel talent pipelines while leveraging social networking and other emerging methods
  • Experience working with members from equity seeking groups specifically those who identify to be from marginalized communities
  • Highly developed communication, presentation and human relations skills with the ability to communicate persuasively and effectively at all organizational levels
  • Experience working with variety of stakeholders at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to collect, organize, and analyse complex information with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient Microsoft Office with advanced Excel Skills and experience in data collection, data analysis and storytelling to support performance indicators and track progress to improve diversity and inclusion hiring
  • Billingualisim would be an asset to this National role
