The Assistant Pharmacy Manager-Long Term Care (LTC) will report directly to the LTC Pharmacy Manager and support the operations of the LTC department. Responsibilities include supporting the LTC Manager with coaching and developing the pharmacy team members, maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring contracted continuing care pharmacy services are delivered upon. The successful candidate will have a strong clinical initiative, attention to detail and an autonomous drive for excellence. 

Job Description


  • Communicate regularly with direct reports to ensure all are meeting job responsibilities and are acting in compliance with regulatory and corporate policies, standards, and values.
  • Completing Mid Year and Year End Performance Reviews for direct reports
  • Assist with continuing care conferences and clinical activities for contracted LTC and supportive living facilities
  • Assist with pharmacy talent management including succession planning, orientation and training, and performance management
  • Assist with efficient operation of the business to achieve all financial targets and deliver on business objectives

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
  • Must be a Licensed Pharmacist in the province of responsibility
  • Injection Certification required
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting required
  •  Previous experience in a LTC highly preferred
  • Above average communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-directed and able to work independently to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable mode of transportation
  • Ability and desire to use new communication tools.
  • Ability to work efficiently
  • Flexibility in scheduling
