Sobeys Central Fill Pharmacy is looking to hire a pharmacy assistant to join the dispensary team to help with blister packing using a VBM machine. Computer efficiency and positive attitude are imperative for this position. Experience preferred however, not required as we are willing to train the right individual. We are looking for someone who is confident with their skills and can learn quickly in a fast paced environment.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Using technology to automate blister card preparation and prescription vials
  • Using computer systems to generate stock lists and labels
  • Ordering supplies/drugs
  • Maintaining and counting inventory
  • Receiving, loading, unloading deliveries
  • Answering questions by phone
  • Preparing, pre-packing, assembling and labelling medicines
  • General cleaning and housekeeping
  • Referring problems or queries to the pharmacist
  • Additional duties when necessary

What you have to offer:

 

  • Undergraduate degree, Pharmacy Technology Certificate or other Pharmacy recognized program is preferred
  • Experience with Sobeys National Pharmacy Group Computer systems, comfort level working with Kroll software is preferred
  • Above average communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ability to effectively multi-task
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, as well as collaborate within a team
