Reporting to the Manager, Omnichannel Content, this role works with a dynamic team of content and social media specialists producing engaging (and delicious!) content across Empire banners and marketing channels. The Content Coordinator is a key team member, integrated into the daily execution of strategic content from ideation to launch. The ideal candidate is a creative, proactive and goal-oriented self-starter who’s passionate about unique multi-platform storytelling that drives the reason to believe for our customers.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Work in partnership with cross-functional marketing, creative and external agency teams to support Omnichannel content execution for website, social, in-store signage, email, sponsorship and other channels as needed
  • Assist banner content leads with tracking data and insights to continually optimize digital content channels, including website & social media platforms
  • Support Always On Social Media content plans from ideation to creative asset coordination, post copy & social calendar maintenance, partnering with banner leads to bring the social strategy to life
  • Excel as a copy writer for retail / customer facing touch points both online and in-store
  • Write, edit and proofread multi-platform content on a daily basis, producing compelling  on-brand content across all channels to inspire consumers and drive product discovery
  • Work closely with banner content leads to execute content strategies on our websites in support of marketing campaigns from brainstorming to content creation to production
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to repurpose creative assets to help the team drive a true Omnichannel customer experience
  • Opportunity to support exciting brands across the organization including Sobeys, Safeway, Compliments, Foodland, Thrifty Foods & FreshCo

What you have to offer:

  • 3-5 years experience in content marketing, communications, editorial or related fields 
  • Experience in writing and content execution for digital channels including website and social media is a must 
  • Copy writing experience in a consumer brand environment, food and grocery experience is preferred
  • Strong project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in SEO, digital analytics and key word research is a plus
